News & Events

News and EventsThroughout 2012 we will be actively celebrating Whittier College’s 125th anniversary as a pre-eminent academic institution, reflecting on our proud history and marking our future through the lens of “125 Years of Defining Leadership.”

From its earliest days, Whittier College has led both as an educational and community institution, and as a chief producer of graduates who are skilled and successful leaders—in service, in business, in local communities, and in global citizenry. During Whittier’s history, its faculty and administration have grappled with this idea of “leadership”: what it means in essence and in practicality, and how to adequately and appropriately train students for lives of leadership—of intellect coupled with character, conscience, and courage—beyond these campus environs.

For 125 years, we’ve been defining leadership in and out of the classroom… join us as we spend the year honoring our venerable heritage, our remarkable present, and our bright and promising future.
